    If your daily dose of snacks comprises regular golgappas, fried besan toasts swimming in oil served with masala chana or the boring sev puri, you need to get out and explore more options around the city. With people from all parts of the country settling down in Delhi, there’s a deluge of new flavours and tastes. From roadside snacks and regional restaurants to firang eateries — you can bite on stuff, even more than you can chew. And we’ve searched Dilli’s bylanes, upscale markets and alleys to zero in on some awesome appetisers, that have us craving for more. So drool on...

Chinese food, that’s Punjabified is fairly common, but a South Indian dish being given a Chinese twist, now that’s new. But here, instead of manchurian balls, there’s batter-fried idli thrown into a thick curry of onions, shallots and lots of garlic. The result, of course, is simbly mandarin!

Topped with sev and full of chopped chillies (if you like!), this light plate is great for evenings. And if this isn’t meaty enough for you, opt for the mutton ghugni instead. Price: Rs 10 What / Where: Sha baglep, The Tibetan Kitchen, Amar Colony Forget the Punjabi version of the hot sam, this flattened Tibetan version, stuffed with mutton, is hatke and filling too! Price: Rs 75 What / Where: Wasabi peanuts, Defence Colony If you’re sold out on the Japanese radish, then these wasabi nuts are
bound to give you that kick as well!

Try out the bagels (7 varieties with 40 toppings) that Lalita De Goederen-Van Lamsweerde’s dishes out. This doughy disc won’t let you down!

Dive into the deep end of the ocean with this parantha stuffed with Surmai tikka, it’s different!

What / Where: Golgappa chaat, Ashok Chaat Bhandar, Lal Kuan, Chandni Chowk
The regular chaat gets a round twist here. The golgappa is filled with dahi instead of signature water, spiked with masalas, topped with chutneys and served cold!

The aroma of a smoked tandoor in humble momos? Yes... may look unappetising, at the outset but bite in and you will know what we’re talking about.
